Dr. Julio A. Rodriguez was born and raised in Miami, FL. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. After completing postgraduate residencies in hospital dentistry, implants and anesthesiology he started Dental Arts of Sunset, a family-owned and operated a private practice in his hometown of Miami, FL.
Arlette Rodriguez
Front Desk - Anesthesiologist Assistant
Arlette is Miami native and has been in the dental field since 2001. Watching Arlette work is like watching a busy bee moving from room to room making sure that every patient has a comfortable experience from start to finish. She is also certified as an anesthesiologist assistant and works with Dr. Rodriguez in all his sedations.
Arlette has been happily married for 23 years and has three beautiful children.
Jennifer Otano
Dental Hygenist
Jennifer has been a hygienist for over thirteen years. She graduated from Miami Dade College with an associate in science in Dental Hygiene in 2009 and joined the Dental Arts Family in 2013.
Helping our patients overcome their dental anxiety, establishing good oral habits, and providing thorough but gentle care are some of the things she is most passionate about.
When she’s not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and trying out new recipes.
Kayley Hlavin
Dental Assistant
Kayley is originally from Columbus, Ohio and moved to Miami in 2019 when she became a dental assistant after compliting the Brittin Dental Assisting Program and is now an instructor for the program. She also has furthered her skill set by becoming a certified Restorative Functions Assistant in UF and phlebotomist.
Her kind and compassionate spirit helps patients feel comfortable in the chair while her background in childcare and early education makes her an asset in creating a wonderful first dental experience for children.
When she’s not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her two beautiful children and going out with her husband.
Catalina Luengo
Dental Assistant
Catalina is a graduated dentist from Universidad de Concepcion, Chile and moved to Miami on 2023.
She completed the Brittin Dental Assisting Program and is looking forward to become a Dentist in the US. She also has furthered her skill set by becoming a certified phlebotomist.
She is very passionate for patient care, and she strives to provide them with the best experience so they feel comfortable and happy.
Her biggest hobby is music , she has studied music alongside her career in dentistry.
Lena Statieva
Dental Assistant
Lena moved from Ukraine on 2022 as a war refugee, while studiyng in Medical University.
She completed the Brittin Dental Assisting Program and her dream is to become a Dental Hygenist.
Her skills and sense of humor is always brining joy to the patients, creating a good environment and amazing experience.
She spends her free time discovering new places arround Miami and is very passionate about the art of photography.
Jose Romero
Dental Assistant
Jose was born on Venezuela and came to the US with her mother. He graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Sciences in Biological Sciences in 2022 and is currently studying Dentistry in UF.
He became a Dental Assistant in December 2022 and worked in the office for over a year training under the guidance of Doctor J. cultivating his passion for dentistry.
Jose likes to play video games and soccer with friends in his free time and spend time with his family.
Diana Cuba
Dental Assistant
Diana has been with Dental Arts of Sunset since 1998 when she earned her expanded duties dental assisting certificate.
Diana was an excellent dental assistant who, sadly, passed away after a long and brave battle with cancer. We all remember her with great affection, along with the Cuban coffees she lovingly made for the entire team every day.
