Natural aging process and constant use of our facial muscles lead to the development of lines, creases, and wrinkles. While aging cannot be stopped, modern dentistry and facial esthetics provide safe, non-surgical solutions to restore a refreshed and more youthful look. Among these, Botox® is one of the most trusted and widely used treatments.
How Botox® Works
Botox® (botulinum toxin type A) temporarily relaxes muscles by blocking signals between nerves and muscles, preventing excessive contraction.

Each time we smile, frown, or raise our eyebrows, the muscles contract and, over time, create lines in the skin. Botox® works by gently interrupting the signal between the nerves and the targeted muscles, so the muscle cannot fully contract. As a result, the overlying skin appears smoother and more relaxed.

Treatment is performed with a very fine needle to deliver small amounts of Botox® into the specific muscles being addressed. The procedure is quick, non-surgical, and involves little to no downtime. Most patients describe the injections as very tolerable, with only mild, temporary sensitivity at the injection site that resolves quickly.
Cosmetic Botox
A combination of factors, such as reduction of collagen or sun exposure, can cause facial lines. Repeated muscle contractions cause skin to furrow and fold, resulting in facial lines. BOTOX Cosmetic works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults.

Botox® is a proven treatment to refresh facial appearance while keeping results natural. Common areas include:

Botox for TMJ Pain
In recent years, Botox® has gained recognition as an effective option for individuals dealing with jaw muscle discomfort or chronic teeth grinding, including conditions related to temporomandibular disorders (commonly referred to as TMJ) that can lead to:

-
Jaw pain and tightness
-
Frequent headaches
-
Tooth wear or fracture
-
Enlarged masseter muscles

Targeted Botox® injections in the masseter and temporalis muscles can reduce overactivity, relieving pain and protecting teeth. Once injected, the jaw and facial muscles are no longer able to overexert themselves, which helps ease chronic pain and minimizes ongoing stress on the jaw.
